University Offers Success
A number of Access learners from across the county are waiting to hear if their university applications have been successful.
Learners from the Access to Social and Health Sciences programme in Market Rasen, Mablethorpe, Skegness and Gainsborough have applied to universities including Lincoln, Hull and the Higher Education Department at The Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education.
Their potential future studies include Social Science degrees, Foundation Degrees in Rehabilitation Studies, Diplomas in Adult Nursing and combined Journalism and English degrees. A number of these applicants have already heard that they have places waiting for them in September following successful completion of the Access programme.
Gaining places on these programmes has been a dream come true for some learners and for others is opening their eyes to the possibilities that surround them. Many other learners on the Access programme plan to continue to university in future years, often once their child(ren) has entered full time education. For these students, seeing their peers achieve places at university has been rather inspiring.
