Craft Taster Course
Monday 19th April at Venue Park Springs Community Centre 14 ladies attended a craft taster course; the first session consisted of beading.
The ladies chose the beads which they wanted to work with during the session and set to work. Each individual chose a colour scheme to match their personality or their preferred choice of colour. The ladies used fishing line to thread their beads on to in which ever sequence or design they wanted their necklace and bracelet to be.
Their tutor Shira had already made an example t for the ladies to look at and get a rough idea of what and how their end result would be. Shira did a step by step demonstration with the ladies and each individual progressed at their own pace either with or without Shira’s help.
The ladies took to the beading and really enjoyed themselves; each bracelet and necklace was absolutely stunning, the ladies were extremely pleased with their end result. All the learners’ were thrilled to be taking their handmade jewellery home.
The majority of learners’ had never even contemplated attempting to make a piece of jewellery with beads from the local craft shop. However they are now in the swing of things and are ready to go out to local shops and see what they can find to carry on with their newly found skills.
The beading session was the first of a five week course next course they will be decorating photo frames with acrylic paint.
