Litter One third of litter on our beaches comes from people who are using the area for recreation. It looks awful and it costs the Local Authorities money to clean it up. Some plastic rubbish is non-biodegradable and will not rot away. Plastic rubbish like six-pack rings and carriers bags can trap and choke wildlife. Always take your litter home to: protect the environment protect marine resources. Carry a bag with you for your litter and always be responsible – leave the place cleaner than when you arrived.
